This is one of the pubs in our town. (They have two). This is where we went the first weekend we were here. Good food and plenty of ale.

Cooooooo-ing

Why, do you ask, do I have a pigeon picture on my blogsite? Well.... they seem to be in abundance here in Beck Row. This little fellow was on my neighbors window this morning.

He, and several hundreds of his friends, awaken me every morning to their gentle cooing.....did I say gentle? Not ! They could raise the dead!

They seem to congregate outside our bedroom window. One morning last week I threw open the curtains to find two of them sitting on my ledge! Cute little devils.

I found this on a website:

"Many British songbirds are on the decline, but the UK’s pigeon population is said to have doubled since 1995 – perhaps because they mate all year round and hurtle from egg to fully fledged pigeon in just four weeks."

And I use to think the old bird lady in Mary Poppins was so cool.

"Come buy my bags full of crumbs...
Come feed the little birds, show them you care,
And you'll be glad if you do.
The young ones are hungry, their nests are so bare,
All it takes is tuppence from you.
Feed the birds, tuppence a bag
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."

Obviously, she commuted to work so she didn't have to live any where near them!

Each village has it's own crest this is our town. (Note the airplanes - as it's close to the base!)

I have now found my connections to my camera and can share some pictures with you all.

The Sharrah's, (minus 1, as Rob is not with us) have started another adventure and moved to England. We are located in Beck Row, which is about an 1 1/2 hours from London (North). We will be here for 3 years. So.... here is a picture of our humble abode. Don was lucky to find a new house big enough for all our "stuff" that we can't live without! While some houses in England are numbered, most are named and our house is "Birch" house.
