New Cathedral

Entrance to the new Cathedral

Coventry Cathedral

In 1940 ,Coventry was bombed by the Germans and was pretty much leveled. In fact, the Germans began using the term "To coventrate" after they bombed Coventry as meaning "to blast the heck out of a place" They still have the ruins of the Cathedral standing and they have built a new one beside it.The ruins

A cross was erected at the altar from the burned beams of the cathedral

It was really windy today and this girl had a very hard time keeping upright. She had 2-3 helpers holding up her costume and it still wasn't easily held upright!

Coventry, England

Went to a big city today called Coventry. Most of you may not know the town, but you'll recognize a familiar citizen: Lady Godiva
They had a parade today that we went to see. Below you'll see a replica they made as a float in the parade of Lady Godiva
Below is the permanent statue of Lady Godiva in the city center. She rode bareback through the town in the 11 th century to help lower taxes. (They never mentioned if it worked...)

Goodbye Rob

So that ends Rob's visit. We had a great time and did a lot of sight seeing.
Bye Rob......

Oxburgh Hall cont.

Oxburgh Hall

I had to go back to work, so Don took them to the coast to dip their toes in the North Sea. Then they visited Oxburgh Hall

Stone Hedge

Rob finally got his wish to visit Stone Hedge.
Trying to convince him it was just a bunch of stones was futile! So we went, we saw and now he's happy.

Bath, England

Okay, I'm finally getting around to finishing Rob's trip in May. I left off with us heading to Fairford, England where we stayed overnight for 2 nights. The first day we headed to Bath. It reminded me of Karlo lo vary (Spelling is not correct) in Poland, but much bigger. The buildings are all from Roman times and built on a hill. The town is known for it's healing baths. We decided $40 to walk around the baths was a bit pricey, so we toured the Abbey instead....

Harry Potter Dining Hall

This is seen throughout the first film where the characters ate their meals. Oxford still uses it as a dining hall. and students eat their lunches here. Although I didn't see any flying ghosts or levitation of any kind....
