Sohren Volksmarch

Yesterday we went on another Volksmarch. It was in Sohren, Germany which is the closest town to Hahn Airport (Ryan Air flies from here) So it was about an hour drive. Above, is the fest hall that you get your tickets to participate. It's also where you can get food and drinks before and after the walk.
Above, is the table with prizes walking clubs can get for having the most participants in the walk. We joined the Ramstein Roadrunners Club. They sponsor two walks a year. One in May and the other on Thanksgiving day.

Part of the walking path. Lynne, Brad and Don

This is the control point. You can do a 5, 10 or 20 kilometer walk and they have control points along the way to "stamp" your ticket. When you finish they stamp your book with how many kilometers you walked. After getting a few hundred kilometers you get certificates etc..... Each control point has tea to drink and they often sell beer and schnapps too.

This is the Hundebar - Doggie bar. They have water for the dogs too!
