Don's Helicopter Ride in July

Looking out the back of the helicopter. After the ride the crew was off to the North Sea for target practice which is the reason for the gun.
Inside the helicopter....Don was the only civilian on board.
Doing a tight turn off the end of the runway at Royal Air Force Lakenheath
You entered through the back of the helicopter via the ramp. The ramp stayed down during the flight....the place where they stood to take the pictures. This helicopter is operated by the Special Operations Group at Royal Air Force Mildenhall and is used to rescue shot-down pilots. (Mildenhall is a 5 minute walk from our house)
Finally got the pictures to show that Don went on a helicopter this summer. Actually, this is the second helicopter, the first one had a engine failure, at least in happen on the ground. It is a big beast and below is Don, attached by a rope at the waist looking out the back end while in air! They had to talked to each other through a microphone and headphones.

That's cool! Now why is he doing this? I'm having a hard time figuring out how that counts as work, but then probably a lot of people say that about what I do on a daily basis.

Interesting also the flatness. Is England flat? Or just this piece of it?

Yes, it was work related. Something about contingency plans for planes that go down and something to do with fires. So they had to assess the area.
So far our area is flat. Not sure that all is flat, will get back to you on that!
